Dr. Patel graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Pennsylvania State University with degrees in Economics and Biology. He received his M.D. from Weill Cornell Medical College, where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha academic honor society. Dr. Patel then completed his Internship Training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
He is currently completing Residency Training in Ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital / Thomas Jefferson University.
His research interests include investigating the role of novel telemedicine and tele-education platforms to improve the diagnosis and management of retinopathy of prematurity. His work has resulted in multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals such as Ophthalmology and JAMA Ophthalmology, as well as podium and poster presentations at national and international ophthalmology conferences.
