Dr. Yap completed her undergraduate (B.S. in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology) and MD degree at the University of the Philippines. She went to complete her Pediatrics residency at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, and her Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship at NewYork Presbyterian – Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Following her fellowship, she was an Assistant Professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and the Arkansas Children’s Hospital before returning to NewYork-Presbyterian – Weill Cornell Medicine, where she is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics. She is board-certified in Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
Dr. Yap is the Fellowship Director for the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship at Weill Cornell Medicine. Her primary clinical and research interests are in the neurodevelopmental outcomes of newborns, including outcomes of retinopathy of prematurity, and newborn global health.
