Meet Dr. Tala Al-Khaled

Education

Dr. Tala Al-Khaled attended the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and was a student in the GPPA Medicine Program. She was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Dr. Al-Khaled received her medical degree from the UIC College of Medicine. She is a resident in ophthalmology at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary at UIC '24.

Research Focus

Throughout medical school, Dr. Al-Khaled was a member of Dr. R.V. Paul Chan’s research team. Their work has been centered on tele-education, global ophthalmology, and artificial intelligence for retinopathy of prematurity.
